He began to paint in 1962, prompted by a visit to an exhibition of the Uruguayan
constructivist Joaquín Torres-García. Soon he started taking art lessons with the
painter José Gurvich, a disciple of Torres.
Having met a group of young artists (Bergallo, Scremini, Vilche and Vila), they form
their own School or Taller.
They come to Europe in 1966 at an invitation of the Dutch Ministry of Culture.
They stay for six months in Holland, where they have an exhibition.
Afterwards they go to England where they will live in London during ten years.
Bollar returns to Holland in 1976, having had an invitation of the Stedelijk Museum
to come to Amsterdam to live and work there.
He has lived there ever since, having had many exhibitions.
